Nicky entered into professional sports at the age of 16, working as a professional show jumping rider and competing as part of the British under 21 equestrian team. She has a team gold medal and individual wins at grand prix level.

Nicky spent 7 years teaching further education at Myerscough College in the UK and during this time completed her Certificate in Education (Cert Ed). She began her bachelors degree when she was 26 years old and did her first year studying Sports Coaching, quickly she realized that more benefit and growth would come by switching to Sport & Exercise Physiology.

"I have athletes who race mountain bikes, gravel, cyclocross, and triathlon at various distances. I use a more holistic approach than most and combine my deep knowledge of exercise physiology with wellness coaching. My coaching clients should expect training plans from me that are grounded in up to date, scientific principles. I also encourage athletes to meet with me for weekly or fortnightly zoom calls where we set lifestyle goals that compliment training. My husband and partner in coaching, Adam Ruszkowski, is an endurance coach as well as a physical therapist, and strength and conditioning coach. Athletes working with me get the added bonus of strength and conditioning workouts set by Adam. All coaching is virtual, so I accept athletes from anywhere in the world."

Following the completion of her bachelors degree she moved to the US and started her masters in Health Education. The goal was to be able to blend the exercise physiology & coaching with a broader understanding of health education. Nicky completed her masters at Ithaca College in 2014.

Nicky has a level 1 coaching certification in swimming and basketball, a level 3 coaching certification in show jumping and cycling, and is a Les Mills body pump instructor.

She has completed two Ironman triathlons, 4 marathons (not including the two ironman) and finished second overall female at Marji Gesick 2021.
